Spin Me Round, Baby!

I don’t know anything about music. In my line you don’t have to. ~Elvis Presley

"Murdock stole my iPod!"

Occasionally I run across a fellow blogger’s idea that I really want to borrow. That’s the case this week with Fun With Shuffle at the always hilarious Snobbery, which I can’t recommend highly enough. The concept is pretty simple: the blogger sets his/her iPod or Windows Media Player on shuffle. The readers have to guess which songs are actually in my library and which are flat-out falsehoods.

What’s in it for you guys? Two things, actually, since P&Q is in a generous mood this week. Firstly, you get a bright, shiny piece of custom swag for your site. Also, upon request, you get your very own 1000-word story written by yours truly. It can be an original piece using a prompt, a fanfic featuring your favorite character…I’m game for anything. The person with the most correct guesses will be the winner. In the event of a tie, I’ll come up with some sort of tiebreaker.

Here we go, P&Q Rangers! Time for some musical awesomeness! (Big hint here: There are a total of 9 Yes and 6 No).

#1: Whitesnake: “Cryin’ in the Rain”

#2: David Bowie: “Let’s Dance”

#3: The Ramones: “Baby, I Love You”

#4: Michael Buble: “Come Fly With Me”

#5. Blondie: “In the Flesh”

#6. Ladysmith Black Mambazo: “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”

#7. Shakira: “Objection”

#8: “Weird” Al Yankovic: “Bohemian Polka”

#9: Toby Keith feat. Willie Nelson: “Beer For My Horses”

#10: Idina Menzel: “I’m Not That Girl”

#11: The Blues Brothers Band: “Goin’ Back To Miami”

#12. Snoop Dogg: “Vato”

#13: Rush: “Time Stand Still”

#14: Amy Lee: “Sally’s Song”

#15: Mumford & Sons: “The Cave”

"Whatcha think, Socki? Too easy?"

Everyone who hazards a guess between now and Sunday will have a shot at the prizes.

  1. Hmmmm – No clues as to how many you have and how many you don’t?!

    No: 7, 9, 12, 13
    Yes: to the rest

  2. Complete guess: I will say NO to 1, 3, 4, 7, 9, 12

  3. No list = 3,4,6,9,11,13
Yes = the rest of them
I would rationalize my choices, but it would be too painful.

  4. No: 4,6,7,9,12 & 15
    My humble guesses.
