Mondays with Murdock: 11 Questions

This is batshit insane! It’s perfect! ~Our site mascot

Our site mascot on his day off

Well, it’s Monday, P&Q Rangers, and you know what that means…another exciting edition of Mondays with Murdock. And since I like to mix things up around here, I’m trying something new.

This idea comes from Words from the Heretic and it’s a pretty simple idea. In fact, it’s a lot like those Versatile Blogger type posts, but since I’ve done those before, it’s actually different. (Hey, I like variety.)

You’ll find a list of 11 questions below. Your job is to answer them in the most humorous way possible. The ones that make me, and the site mascot, laugh the hardest will win an awesome prize with an estimated retail value of $9.98 mailed to you via the Howling Mad Express. And as my faithful readers who have actually won one of these prizes will tell you, they’re pretty epically awesome.

1. If you could have one favorite toy back that you lost as a kid what would it be?

2. When it came to opening any kind of presents what kind of kid were you; try to get a peek at your presents or actually wait to be surprised?

3. Do you have any guilty pleasures leftover from your childhood?

4. What is your favorite movie watching snack?

5. If you could steal the power of any super hero by kicking them in the shins who would you kick?

6. Do you still enjoy any non-electronic toys or games? If so what is it?

7. Favorite place to be alone when you want some peace and quiet?

8. What is your favorite kind of cookies: home made or store bought?

9. What is your favorite greedy snack that you will not share with anyone?

10. If you were turned into a kid again, and were allowed to ransack your favorite candy store what five candies would you grab immediately?

11. And finally: Cake or Death?

And finally, Rangers, I’m giving you a partial list of names of actual patrons from the library where I work. Further proving humanity is going straight down the crapper (I might do an entire post on this later.) I wish these were merely names of prescription meds or extras from A Game of Thrones. Sadly this is not the case.

Cortex, Cleopeachteria, Rockus, Immunique, Asia Brown, S’Melli, Ashol, Juwannja, Strawberri, Noodle, Lickia, Squishy, N’Joy.

In the words of that maitre’d from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off…I weep for the future.

I know you guys enjoy these weekly features, but if you have suggestions for future editions, just let me know!

As always, be sure to click “Like” to appease the site mascot. He has a fragile ego, ya know.

  4. I did not realize you worked at a library until just now. Your cool points have doubled. 😀
My e-friend Lynette also works at a library, and is also very witty/wordy. She should be on WordPress but instead is still over at LJ: http://quizzicalsphinx.livejournal.com.

Also: names like that are eerily similar to the town (north of Pittsburgh) where I grew up. Fun fun!

  5. 1. If you could have one favorite toy back that you lost as a kid what would it be?
Little stuffed mouse named “Barney.” I kept that little guy with me until I was 23 which, considering I was deep in the closet and heavy into the overcorrecting machismo, got me some weird looks from my roommates, all except the only one whose back I couldn’t stomp a mudhole in, which is kinda interesting when I look back on it.

    2. When it came to opening any kind of presents what kind of kid were you; try to get a peek at your presents or actually wait to be surprised?

Anything with chocolate, preferably chocolate covered chocolate with a chocolate filling.

    5. If you could steal the power of any super hero by kicking them in the shins who would you kick?
Henry Pym, not because I want his powers, but because he’s kind of a jerk and deserves it.

Home made chocolate chip cookies if they are right out of the oven! Otherwise whatevs.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Reese’s Pieces, Kit Kat, Nerds and Now and Laters, especially the last one b/c they’d stay in your molars for a week!

    11. And finally: Cake or Death?
    Death by Chocolate?

  6. 1. If you could have one favorite toy back that you lost as a kid what would it be? My full sized GI Joe with Kung Fu Grip – now I have to use my own personal Kung Fu grip for opening jars.

    2. When it came to opening any kind of presents what kind of kid were you; try to get a peek at your presents or actually wait to be surprised? Peek…always, including my siblings gifts – there’s no surprise like a well-rehearsed one1

    3. Do you have any guilty pleasures leftover from your childhood? ALL of my guilty pleasures are left over from my childhood! Especially drinking and looking at my Dad’s Playboys, which is especially creepy considering he’s in his 80’s

    4. What is your favorite movie watching snack? Milk Dudds…no annoying crunch to miss dialogue and nothing adds to a movie experience quite like losing a filling or two.

    5. If you could steal the power of any super hero by kicking them in the shins who would you kick? Superman – I don’t want his super powers, I just wanna kick him in his shins – stupid cape!

    6. Do you still enjoy any non-electronic toys or games? If so what is it? Tinker Toys – easier to manipulate than Lego’s

    7. Favorite place to be alone when you want some peace and quiet? My car – It’s a long way from paid off, so enjoying it is mandatory.
