Blogging Avengers, Assemble!

We’re not a team. We’re a time-bomb! ~from The Avengers

Like just about every other geek I know, I’m going to see The Avengers this weekend. Maybe more than once if I can hide myself in the theater. I know it’ll be awesome and it’s the kind of movie I love to see on the big screen.

I figured I’d do something to commemorate the big day (other than break out my best cosplay, which I can guarantee nobody wants to see.) Susie Lindau just came up with a great idea for fellow bloggers to get to know one another, and I have to say I’m kind of borrowing her idea. However, this one has a superhero twist.

Instead of taking yet another of those personality quizzes or analyzing the plot or the characters, I thought I’d offer my fellow bloggers a chance to showcase their best work. You know, that one post that really made you feel all awesome and cool and heroic? The one that should have been Freshly Pressed, dammit? The one that you loved but sadly didn’t get the exposure it deserved? This is your chance!

Be sure to leave a link to your post in the comments so others can find it! If you like, explain which of The Avengers it suits best. Is it brash and bold like Tony Stark/Iron Man? Noble and patriotic like Steve Rogers/Captain America? The kind of post you never want to make angry like Dr. Bruce Banner/The Hulk?

Next week I’ll be sure to include all the heroic posts into my Week In Review. Bloggers, assemble! Feel free to mention who your favorite Avenger(s) are and you might get dibs on him/her.

As for the site mascot, for those of you who were wondering, he already thinks he’s a superhero. I’d try to talk to him about it, but what would be the point of that?

If you enjoyed this post, why not be a hero and click “Like?” Even better, subscribe for your daily fix of madness!

  1. Thank you so much for the shout out! I love your idea! I will have to put my thinking cap on….remember those? 🙂

  2. Here is my link! It is about about how important support is to writers with a twist and a lot of humor! I would think this would be a job for Iron Man! Who’s in Your Corner? http://susielindau.com/2011/11/22/whos-in-your-corner/

  3. I dig the blog title twist on “Drawn & Quarterly”. Unless it’s not, and pretend I never said that. Then just leave me alone.

But anyway good idea. I’ll be like the commentor above me, and come back to the premise.

    P.S.- Avengers for life….(even Bendis)

  4. What a terrific idea….and even more cool what you’re going to do with it. I will be happy to throw my hat into the ring! I’m going to say the post I want to share is Captain America–because it’s about loyalaty, idealism, and it’s probably a bit naive but genuine and yeah, in a roundabout way, I suppose noble! It’s about the importance of the human connection in our cultural experiences

  5. Have a great time at the movie, and I look forward to reading the links people leave!

  6. Here is my post. It is a re-post of an attempt at poetic prose I wrote roughly a year ago. Of all the Avengers it reminds me of Bruce Banner/Hulk, because this post is me laid bare, stripped to my core(s) much as Banner is when he becomes the Hulk.

  7. […] which I still haven’t seen (curse you, family moving day!), I did a little post called Blogging Avengers, Assemble! in which I invited fellow bloggers to share their Best […]
