WWHMD?

The man’s crazier than a Mexican rabbit. But I love him. ~Face, about Murdock, “The A-Team”

My (sometime) fictional role model

For my readers: I’m sure you’ve had one of those days where everything seems to come apart at the seams. Because today is one of these days for me, and because I really couldn’t make my Evil Teacher story come together in time for a decent post, I’m using Plan B. That is to say, you’re about to get a heavy dose of self-indulgence. It’s like eating chocolate without the calories (and, since I think I just won some real chocolate in a fellow blogger’s contest, why not?)

Anyone who’s been following P&Q for any length of time knows I love H.M. Murdock of The A-Team. I know. You can laugh if you like. This is a show that’s been off the air for almost a quarter century. It’s cheesy and goofy; a comic book come to life. But it also has, in between the funny dialogue and the ridiculous fight scenes, some great messages about friendship and accepting differences. The A-Team, for anybody who was in a coma during the 1980s, are a group of genial mercenaries who ride around helping people in need while dodging the military police. And I can’t get enough of them…and especially Murdock, their resident crazyman, pilot, and all-around good guy.

Today’s post is what it is. Lots of Murdock with some pithy pop culture tacked on. I’ve included some of my favorite quotes from those famous and not so famous to go along. If it’s not your thing, well, we’re getting back to the normal zany pop culture around here tomorrow (or just as soon as I toss a salad.) If it is, you’ve come to the right place. Sit back, relax, and enjoy these screenshots provided by my pal Leanne at dwightschultzgallery.com, and the artwork provided through DeviantArt.com. Crazies of the world, unite!

The question is not what you look at, but what you see. ~Henry David Thoreau

If you reveal your secrets to the wind, you should not blame the wind for revealing them to the trees. ~Khalil Gibran

The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me. ~Ayn Rand

I’d like to especially thank my pals A.J., Leanne, and K.S. for their continuing support and love of H.M. Murdock. You guys are awesome. I’d also like to thank all my regular readers: without you, I’d have quit a long time ago.

  1. Aww you’re so awesome and sweet. Glad you found a use for the screencaps 😛 I’m a regular reader, I’m sorry I’m not more of a regular responder, I should really leave more comments! I always find myself wondering what Murdock would do XD You’re such a great writer. I love your style. It’s so engaging.

  2. I’m in love with The A-Team and especially with Murdock since I was 4.
It’s good to know there are people around the world who still feel the same. I just bought the whole series in dvd for my birthday, now I’m planning a full-day A-Team marathon 😀

  3. I just bought my third set of season 2 and season 3 last night!!! (You can tell which seasons are my favorites, I guess, by which seasons need replacement DVDs.)

I love it when you blog about A-TEAM!
